Daniel's Story
Life
I attended Occidental College, majored in Physics and even lettered in Track (don't ask how!). I met my wife Betsy, OXY grad, on a bus trip December 1964. We were traveling, independently, to Lincoln Nebraska to hear Martin Luther King Jr. After an exciting courtship in the stacks of the Occidental Library, we got married June 5, 1966. We graduated from Oxy June 12, 1966 and started Summer school at Stanford June 19, 1966 (that was a busy few weeks). I got a Master degree from Stanford in Applied Physics, 1969. Betsy got her teaching credential.

I was a teacher, department chair, computer center director, personnel administrator, business officer and several other things in the past 35 years. m a High School Science teacher to a computer programmer and is now an Oracle Database administrator for the City of San Francisco. She plans to retire during this current year.
Betsy and I have bought a home in Nevada City, CA and plan to retire and move there in another year or so. We have recently sold our home in SF and now live in Alameda. We will also live in Nevada City. We will miss neither the fog nor the congestion of San Francisco.
We have two boys who both graduated from UC Davis. The older is a Land Surveyor Trainee working in Davis, CA. Greg married Sandy Coldiron and is enjoying helping her raise her three daughters. The younger received a PhD in Chemical Engineering from University of Colorado in June 2001. He married Tamkio Katsumoto and they live in South San Francisco. We have no grandchildren. We do have two Harley Davidson motorcycles; we think of these as our grandchildren! I am baby sitting a 1968 MGB-GT; who knows how to tune SU carburetors??
